The U.S. Navy vessel "Monsoon" was escorting a large submarine
as we were heading west out the Straight of Juan de Fuca. It positioned itself so
that we would not be able to get near the sub (as if we could attack it with our flare pistol!).


And this is the sub that the "Monsoon" was protecting.
